Jonathan also has had some items of brand new fishing luggage (Imax boat bag & Shakespeare Salt rucksack) donated to him and would like to raise money by selling them to a club member at a considerable discount to raise further money for WATERAID.
WATERAID works to get the most basic need - Clean drinking water - to the worlds poorest people.
Many thanks if can help,

Hopefully, the following pages will be your guide to a good day's fishing in the sea at Mumbles, or around Gower or the wider Bristol Channel. As well as online news for local fishing we offer hints, tips and guides to help you with your fishing, along with advice from some of the Club's top sea anglers. For our members we have the very best Blyth 30ft (10m) catamaran club boat which can be booked for fishing trips to the many productive fishing marks in the Bristol Channel. We also have a chalet for hire that sleeps 6 and is loated in the Summbercliffe Chalet Park, at Caswell Bay, which can be hired for holidays, stay and shore fish the gower coast or or boat fish from the Oystercat. Oystercat and the chalet play a major role in the aims of the Club. 'To promote and facilitate the amateur sports of motor boating and sea angling in the Mumbles area and comminity participation in the same'. For more details of the Oystercat scroll down and use the navigation buttons on the left of the screen. For more details of the chalet then go to our chalet website . We’ve also got links to some great web sites and online fishing resources, including books and DVD’s on fishing.

There are few coastlines, anywhere, to equal the magnificence of the Gower Peninsula. There are fewer still that can match the quality of its fishing. Gower was the UK’s first area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and as such provides some senic places to fish from; both shore and boat, from South Gower’s rocky outcrops to North Gower’s estuarine mudflats nowhere is there more scope for the patient angler to succeed.
MMBFC - Club Scene: Clubs form the core of sea, coarse and still water angling and are places where most real anglers started out and are still found. This is true of the Mumbles Motor Boat and Fishing Club. The Club is well organised and very socialable with some 200 members, including family members and juniors, who have a range of interests including one speicies fishing, match fishing, specimen fishing, social fishing and even casting. Our members are passionate about their sport of fishing, whether from the shore, boat , river or lakes all our anglers care about the fishing environment, other anglers and the future of all forms of fishing. They also know about minimum fish sizes, conservation, catch and release, and angling etiquette. The backbone activities of the club are the social club nights, a series of fishing competitions and social fish-ins from local venues. Many of the shore events are fished in the evenings and into darkness. Usually, an event is stage every few weeks to coincide with the most suitable tides that fall every fortnight. The Club's fishing catamaran caters for the boat anglers who do not have their own boat. Oystercat fishing trips normally go out most weekends and at least once mid-week. The Oystercat fishing trips depend on the weather being suitable and the availability of skippers. We don't have many out and out matchmen, more like recreational anglers of various ages and experience who like to get out for some fresh air, loads of chat and to help one anothers fishing technique and experience. Many members do not show a great desire to win, taking part is more important for some, although others may not admit their occasional success is most welcome.
Club fishing is usually the best way to learn how to fish in terms of tactics and venues. Fishing among other Club members is more informative than fishing alone and learning by mistakes, because you will always have someone to ask. Fishing this way is a fast track to knowledge. Club night is the place where many secrets are revealed, especially over a pint. Don't be afraid to ask, initial success is usually about being a copycat. Not many experienced anglers are secretive, being unable to help telling all and sundry about their tactics. Providing you can sift through the tall stories there is a lot to be learned from talking fishing and fishing with the Club's best. Club members fishing together are very tolerant of beginners (adult and juniors) and the more anglers that fish the more successful the Club will be. Aside from a few moaners, most members are helpful once they get to know you.
The plus points of joining the Club will vary from person to person. Many have joined because of the social side and low bar prices. Some because the Club offers low rate of angling insurance, the membership fee for our Club includes very good angling insurance cover through membership of SWWASAC. Others because they do not want to fish alone, espcially at through the night, or maybe they like the banter at a Club fishing event. The Club has members who do not fish competitions at all, but because their cash supports the Club is of benefit to everyone and the the angling community. Membership of the Club allows you to choose how involved your participation will be, and that includes administration and becoming Club officers.
